known as the "golden beach" because it is one of the few exclusively sandy, brilliant and clear water, green and not very deep for several meters, less known than the previous one, but one of the best on the island. See, here is a picture:

If you are interested in local products and tou like tastings this is the stage for you, olive oil is a typical product of Rhodes and the Ladomilos company (www.ladomilos.gr) has set up a small but comprehensive museum with vintage machines and free tastings. Island on the south, is 107km from Rhodes, the feature of this place is that depending on the high or low tide the island of Prassonissi joins or breaks away from Rhodes, as you can see in the picture below. Formerly run by Catholic monks and Orthodox today, Filerimos monastery was builtin the thirteenth century, destroyed during the Turkish occupation and then rebuilt by the Italians. 12) KAMIROS ANCIENT TOWN
Is the most important archaeological site on the island, founded in the eighth century BC by the Dorians, the ruins are visible today because of the Hellenistic period, the previous city was destroyed by two tremendous earthquakes. 22) DE VECCHI MANSION
If you like Urbex it is a place to see. Cesare Maria De Vecchi was the second governor of the Dodecanese during the Italian period, in that period were built many buildings in Profitis Ilias the most impressive of which is precisely the Villa De Vecchi. Also at Profitis Ilias, there is the Hotel Elaphos, an Alpine-style building, it seems indeed a chalet and wisely the owners have restored it using as much as possible the original parts: the bizarre and fascinating, look here on their site.
